Shades of Green

As opposed to last week's heartbreaking loss, this week was just a pathetic loss.

Still, in the large scheme of things, I can't be complaining. Though the day was a long and tiring one, the band put on an excellent show and the party afterwards was a good time in washing away our sorrows. For some reason, the evening felt more relaxed and chill than other parties I've been to, it was quite refreshing.

Lately I've been feeling better about myself than I have in a long time. Not that I was some depressed, suicidal guy before, but things have generally been positive as of late. I think I attribute part of that to having a less demanding school schedule this semester, but I've also been building awesome new friendships while really strengthening existing ones. I hate to sound cliche or really schmaltzy, but I really do feel blessed with my friends and those I know and love.

I have a midterm tomorrow. And one next week, then one after that. I've had to catch up on reading like mad, it's been driving me nuts. Fortunately, I don't care about most of these classes in the long run, and have been considering changing some of them to P/NP. I guess I'll see what happens after the midterms, thankfully there is still time to change, despite the odd decisions over deadlines that were passed recently.

Quote of the day (even though it technically wasn't said today): "Speaking of gumbo, isn't New Orleans gumbo right now?" -Andy Gee
