What a plague blogs have become these days

What is it about reading little snippets of people's lives that we find so intriguing? I can tell myself "OK, I'll spend 5 minutes reading everyone's blog updates" and then spend the next 40 minutes looking through an entirely different person's blog that I found a link to on one of my friend's blogs.

I guess I should start writing in this thing more.
