Shades of Green

Yesterday, I hung out with Glendon, Steve, and Sylvia. We hit Crescent Plaza and Broadway Plaza with the intentions and ambitions of finding people who would want to hire punk-ass teens like us. We got a lot of applications, so that's hopefully the first step in gaining employment, but I got the idea from a lot of employers that they really wanted us to be 18 before they even considered a job for us. It sucks -_-; Well, hopefully a lot of these places are looking for fresh, young, new talent, so I'll just have to try anyways and hope for the best. i know places like Jamba Juice don't mind that young people work for them, so... Got ot hope for the best. Still, it was nice hangin out with people (even if that's all I seem to do these days). Wandering aimlessly through town....it reminded me of the time we went to SF and got semi-lost. :-P

When I got home at around 8, I found that my parents had already left for SF to spend time with my uncle and aunt (a while ago acutally!). However, there was a surprise waiting for me in the mail. AP test scores! I opened it, and to my surprise and delight, I had discovered that I received a 5 in Statistics! It made me very happy! Yayyayaayyaayyay. Even though I had only taken one test, as opposed to others who took two or three, it made me happy to discover I had done so well. Congratulations to me and to everyone who received favorable scores.

Time for some more reviews:

She-Spies: Yes, I watched this. Austin Powers had ended, and I remembered that some show starring that chick from Species was premiering that night. She unfortunately wasn't THAT hot in this show, but there was another girl who was pretty hot. Short, blonde hair, and her character is supposed to be the spunky, slightly clumsy one. Good combination. As for the show itself? Well, it's a mixed bag. At times its brilliantly satirical, but at other times its just plain corny. There's quite a bit of overacting, not in the sense of overemphasizing certain things (like in Sister Sister), but in the sense of "No normal person would ever be able to come up with or say something so complex and so completely explained in such a short amount of time". Eh, there were some clever moments, like they introduced the characters in a fantasy Dating-game type setting, and every now and there is some on-screen text that explains stuff. For example, one of the girls is trying to hack into this governor's computer and the governor is in the hallway outside his room and heading straight for the door. This arrow appears pointing to the door and it says on the screen "She's still at the computer. Somebody DO something!" It's clever, but its also a little corny, especially when its overused. All in all, this show really doesn't take itself seriously. But that was part of the charm. I guess I'd watch it again if I wasn't doing anything else, and the TV was free.

Love Hina: Today I purchased the first volume of the Love Hina manga (Japanses comic book). Ah!!! Now this is what manga is all about!! This 200 page volume is non-stop insanity fueled by a boy's misfortunes and the tension that exists between him and the five other young women that reside with him as he attempts to study to get into the university of his choice. Bwah, this is a perfect example of non-stop, perverted comedy with a hint of romance. Must get more...

Now I gotta get back to "studying"......

Quote of the day: "According to FBI documents, O.J. Simpson has allegedly been letting a drug dealer stay in his guest house and drive his children to school. In his defense, O.J. points out that, if the drug dealer didn't drive the kids to school, they'd have to ride with a murderer." -Jimmy Fallon
