Shades of Green

Wow, I'm doing pretty bad at consistently updating this blog. Well, let's go into recap mode again:

Friday:

After wasting most of the morning to sleep, I remembered that I was supposed to go watch Nadesico with Brice and then later maybe go bowling with Brice and Justin. To make a long story short, I ended up going bowling with them and Sylvia at around 3. The greatest planners in the world, we are not, but at least we got the ball rolling, so to speak.

It's been a while since I went bowling, and it definitely shows. Failing to clear even 100 in all of three games was one indication. I remember last year when I vowed to be able to bowl at least 150 by the end of the summer. Heh, how quickly we forget our summer goals. This year, things have gone better, but I've still failed to do a lot of the things that I told myself that I would do. C'est la vie.... Anyways, it was fun, but it was disappointing to find out that I can't hit on girls very well. Granted, I wasn't seriously trying and was really just trying to make fun of Sylvia, but it was still a kinda blow to the old pride. Oh well, it's not like I'll be getting anywhere fast that way anyways. After bowling, we went over to Mountain Mike's across the parking lot. I wanted to visually confirm with my own two eyes the rumor that there was a DDR7th Mix machine there. True to everything I've heard, I saw a thing of great beauty as I entered through the doors: a DDR7th machine. It was like a gift from above. Someone up there liked me and had sent me easy access to a 7th mix machine. Unfortunately, due to time constraints and my crippled/irritated leg, I was in no condition to give it a whirl. So close, yet so far.... It sucked.

Weekend:

Nothing too interesting on my part. I just went shopping for clothes with my mom and went driving with my dad really. A lot of people seemed too busy to want to do stuff. Oh well. Oh yeah, some friends of the family came over, and something....interesting happened. I don't wanna say what happened cuz I don't wanna speak badly of them, but let's just say this.... Don't drink yourself stupid and then do something stupid like move around a lot. It's a good thing I was there to be a designated driver...

Monday (today):

Hooee, today was chock full of interesting events, of which I will only be able to write a couple of short paragraphs on (wink).

I mysteriously awoke this morning on the couch. I don't ever remember falling asleep on the couch, nor do I remember getting up and moving to the couch. In fact, I distinctly remember climbing into bed after shutting down the computer. Strange. That day I had a test and a program due for class. The program I had fininshed, but I hadn't really studied TOO hard for the test. I still felt confident though, cuz it didn't seem like it should be too difficult. Pretty basic stuff, if you ask me. The test, in fact, was not difficult at all. It took a while, but it only covered the basics of what we learned. Basically, if you had done well on the programs, you could have done well on the test. As a result, I got out of class early and went home very early with James and Brice.

Deciding that we had an entire day to ourselves, we decided to crash at my place and decide what to do. Brice, being the hardcore gamer that he is, decided he wanted to check out some of the games in my old NES collection. James seemed bored, being a PC gamer, but he played along with the idea. After toying with that novelty for a while and skooling Brice's ass in Mega Man 3, we decided to go see Men in Black 2. I had wanted to see this movie ever since the trailer come out, but I had heard mixed reviews about it, ranging from hilarious to downright mediocre.

Upon arriving at the theatre, we were forced to make a donation to lung cancer research through punishment of guilt. It wasn't pretty. Next, we found that the theatre was practically empty. Guess 12:30 isn't exactly peak theatre hours. After that, the very first preview put us through another guilt trip, this time promoting some disease treating foundation. Finally, the movie star......ah, wait, there's a stupid computer animated short instead. It was a lil funny I guess, but I woulda liked to jump straight to the movie. The movie itself was pretty funny, but I definitely found the first movie a lot funnier. For some reason, a lot of the jokes and humor seemed a bit forced in this movie, and the plot wasn't nearly as well thought out (except for the nifty twist at the end). It was still very funny, but for seem reason it didn't seem as good.

Any visit to the theatre requires a visit to the theatre arcade, and of course, teh main event at the Centruy theatre arcade is DDR. It's archaic (1st mix USA) and sometimes has sticky pads, but I guess it'll do in a pinch. I had fun skooling Brice's ass once again and trying to teach him the way of the DDR machine. He still lacked some rhythm skills that are necessary to do well in this game, but he's definitely improving, methinks. After leaving the theatre, I realized taht James was going home the wrong way. Instead of turning right, he made a left. However, he insisted that we could still go home this way. While I didn't doubt him, it seemed a hell of a lot more inconvenient that way. Still, I wasn't complaining, cuz it was a lot better than walking home. We ended up going all the way back to the vicinity of DVC, and then taking the highway back in the direction we came from. To boot, James got off at an exit that was practically right next to the theatre. We had ended up going in a frickin circle! After taking the scenic route, I finally made my way back home, but not after James forgot to turn into the street with my apartment. James is one of the worst drivers I've ever been in the car with, and not because he's reckless either. He has no sense of direction! Heh, sorry James, but I had to say it. :-P

Quotes of the day:
"Alright, whip it out" -many people (inside joke)
"I want you all to tilt your heads to the right a little bit.." -me, after realizing we went in a giant circle, with the theatre to our right
"BLOG IT! BLOG IT!" -Brice
"He's a ballchinian." -Will Smith (that was so wrong.....:-D)
