Yep, once again forgot to update this weekend. Well, here goes:

Saturday:

Dan and I took a trip to the Milpitas Golfland. Simply put, that place is Bemani heaven. If I could live there for the rest of my life, Idon't think I'd get bored very quickly. For all you non-DDR players (and even for some of you who DO play DDR), Bemain is the term for games that are in the vein of DDR and are made by Konami. IE, they involve music, usually involve some kind of physical interaction with the player, and they ask you to find the beat and to keep it. It all stems from the original Bemani game, Beatmania. Anyways, Milpitas Golfland has nearly every single Bemani game imagineable. In addition to FOUR mixes of DDR (USA, 4th plus, 7th: Max2, and Disney's Rave), this place had Beatmania, Guitar Freaks, Keyboard Mania, Drum Mania, Para Para Paradise, and Dance Maniax! (For more information, please visit Needless to say, we didn't get any golfing done...

DDR 7th Mix (DDRMAX2) has defnitely rekindled my interest in DDR. That's not to say that I lost interest in DDR, cuz it's still lotsa fun and pretty challenging, but after seeing USA and 3rd mix machines all over the place and playing the heck out of Dan's DDR mixes, I kinda got a little tired of the music selection. There weren't any really good songs anymore, and I mean the REALLY good songs. The ones that stick to your head and don't get out, like Boom Boom Dollar or Butterfly or Stomp to My Beat. While DDRMAX2 doesn't really have many of those, I must say that it contains one of the best selections of music I've heard from DDR in a while. It seems a bit too pop-ish at times, but at least it's J-pop. Definitely a worthy follow-up to the DDR series, and I can't wait for DDR 8th mix. Still, the MAX series makes the game seem different somehow. It's like I'm not playing DDR anymore. It plays like DDR, sounds like DDR, and looks like DDR, but it just doesn't FEEL the same. It's hard to explain. I guess it's just one of those gotta play it to see it things.

As for the other games, didn't get to play Beatmania (though I've played it many times before), didn't play Guitar Freaks too much, but I still like that game (and I've played it before), Para Para Paradise is a LOT of fun (like DDR except with light sensors that you can break with any part of the body and the object is to follow the character on screen's movements as close as you can) but a little too easy, Dance Maniax (very similar to PPP) is also a lotta fun and a lot more challenging than PPP, Drum Mania is also a lot of fun and has made me want to learn how to play the drums, and Keyboard Mania was just dull :-( We're definitely going back there someday; there is just too much stuff to do there. All I mentioned was the Bemani stuff; they have TONS of other regular arcade games too.

After I got home, I borrowed Dan's Gamecube. I only borrowed Super Smash Bros Melee, which is a pretty boring game solo.

Sunday:

Eh....pretty uneventful actually. I felt like doing stuff, but I got up waaaay too late. By that time, i no longer felt like doing stuff :-P Support for NSquad and trivia is growing. For those of you who didn't know (ie, everyone), I run Nintendo trivia at NSquad (link to the right) on Sundays at 6 PM. If you happen to be home and happen to know a thing or two about Nintendo and gaming, you should check it out. You have the chance to win some cool prizes.

Today:

DVC goodness....I didn't get some of the stuff we went over today in class, but it doesn't look like we'll be needing it that much for our programs, so hopefully I'm good. After class, I started working on my problem, but ran into a major bug. After spending some time trying to fix it, I decided to walk away from the problem like Mr. Lou suggested. I went with a couple of friends down to an internet cafe that was really more of a PC gaming hideaway. That place had some of the best computers I'd ever seen, and lots of em too! I learned how to play Counter-Strike, which is strikingly difficult, not because it's confusing, but because the people who play the game have been playing it for a couple of years and are freakishly good at it now. Sadly, I got my ass handed to me on a platter. Still, it was lots of fun, and I hope to play it again, hopefully by actually getting the game from someone. The cafe itself is also a really cool place, and I'll probably go back there sometime too.

After coming home, I rented Resident Evil for the Gamecube. CREEEEPY game. I'm almost too afraid to play it. Almost. :-P
I can't wait to play it some more!!

Quote of the day: "Mother Fuckers!!!!!!" -Me, after being sniped in Counter Strike
